Appeals

The attorneys at Otten & Joyce, LLP have handled a number of appeals in the real property, personal injury, insurance, and criminal context from the filing of the notice of appeal through briefing and ultimately oral argument.   

Our attorneys obtained a published decision in the case Michel v. Palo Verdes Network Group (2007) 156 Cal.App.4th 756 regarding disclosures in the real estate context.  This published decision resulted in a new civil jury instruction (California Jury Instructions-Civil, 8th Edition) and has been cited in a number of subsequent cases and in secondary sources.

Our attorneys have also drafted and submitted amici curie briefs on behalf of interested parties, including both non-profit and environmental groups.
